Wambli Ska Ranch
Where Land, Ceremony, and Learning Meet
Wambli Ska Ranch is where young men learn to care for buffalo—and in the process, themselves, their communities, and the earth. It’s not just a place to work; it’s a place to grow.

Here, young warriors do more than tend to buffalo. They learn to care for themselves, their communities, and the earth—walking the path of responsibility, culture, and self-discovery.

Buffalo Herd in the Making – Tatonka Wopa
What began with 50 buffalo has grown with the addition of 17 more—and with calves on the way, our all-heifer tatonka wopa is building a future rooted in regenerative herd growth and genetic preservation. This herd is more than livestock—it’s a living symbol of renewal, strength, and sovereignty.

28 Horses – Shunka Wakan
Healing begins the moment a young person locks eyes with one of our horses. Our herd of 28 shunka wakan serve as gentle mentors in motion, teaching trust, respect, and resilience through equine connection and daily care.

Land-Based Healing in Action
Description goes hereFrom hauling water and hay to mending fences and managing pasture, the ranch offers youth a place to get their hands dirty, their minds focused, and their hearts grounded. We say: open your heart, and shut the gate! There's always meaningful work to be done.

Sacred Storm Buffalo is an innovative Native American-led social enterprise nonprofit, where workforce development is the driving force for learning what is possible. More than a processing plant, it’s a movement—revitalizing ancestral bison stewardship while equipping Native youth with skills in butchery, sustainable food systems, and business. The Sacred Storm Buffalo Food Hub transforms every part of the buffalo into opportunity, crafting Pretty Pink Buffalo Soap from tallow, lip balm, and other handmade goods. We also offer specially sourced flour, honey, teas, coffee, and more, fostering food sovereignty and cultural resilience.
